I get stuck in a terrible rut with my running and I am happy to be there quite frankly. This is the year I decided to get out of my comfort zone and do a wider variety of races. Of course, there are the people who talk talk talk and say they are going to do things and then never do them (hmmm I might have a close relationship with someone who does that), but I am determined not to be one of those type of people. So here’s the challenge: http://www.runforachievabledream.com/ - a half marathon in Williamsburg, VA.
The thing that caught my eye about this, was that it starts by running down the center street of Colonial Williamsburg, how great is that!
Then it proceeds to become “the challenge”. The course is all rolling hills,
with quite a long one thrown in there as well. It has a great ending though, into the stadium of William and Mary. It is the inaugural running of the race and the race director is the former race director of Boston. It just seemed like the planets were correctly aligned for me to pick that race, so I registered. Yes, it’s going to be hot (I hate running in the heat), yes there will be all hills (I am training for that in preparation), yes I’ll have to wake up really early to get there. But it will be fun!
